books…
Jun 11, 2010 I Personal, fedora.2 days ago I saw a post on Matthew‘s blog about what books he is reading at the moment.
I was wondering if this too could become a Fedora meme? let’s try it!
These are the books I am currently reading:
- Fedora 13 security – enhanced Linux (chapter 4)
- Foundations of IT service management (chapter 3)
- Red Hat RPM Guide (chapter 7)
- Linux Fundamentals (chapter 11) (but because I already know most of it, this one goes lightning fast)
- The productive programmer (chapter 3)
Books laying around here that I still have to read:
- CCNA: accessing the wan
- Getting things done (but maybe I should read this one first
)
who’s next?
Sam Says:
How do you like “The productive programmer”, what’s it like, is it any good?
Jun 11, 2010, 16:54I like “Linux Fundamentals”, seems pretty complete.
biertie Says:
well, I’m still reading the book off course, but you can lend it if you want..
the book is really about ‘how do you become a good programmer’, if you have this, do that, try to get this and that done before you start, learn to think about languages like xyz, …
I’m pretty happy with the book
and yeah, linux-trainingbe is a link you should bookmark if you are into linux.

Many thanks for the link love!
Hopefully I will soon find time to complete the networking chapters…

As you might now, I’m am quite into SELinux
Jun 11, 2010, 17:29maybe I can help you with that chapter?
Paul Cobbaut Says:
That would be very nice!
As you can see there is not much yet about SELinux, I would love a practical example on securing Apache and securing a nfs-shared directory (or just securing some files).
Ideally it mimics the structure of Linux Fundamentals, so students can follow the theory by typing commands.
